01 The extension
Overlaysmith is a Chrome browser extension that adds an image you choose to the camera video you send in supported browser video calls. It runs entirely on your computer. Your video and images are not sent to any server operated by Overlaysmith.
02 License
Overlaysmith grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the extension on devices you own or control.
- You may use Overlaysmith for personal and commercial calls.
- You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense or repackage the extension or its code.
- You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the extension's code, except as permitted by applicable law.
03 Your content and lawful use
You are responsible for what you put on your video. Overlaysmith is a tool; the images and text are yours.
- Use only images, logos and text you have the right to use. Other people's trademarks, artwork and photos may be protected.
- Images you make with an AI image tool are covered by that tool's own terms. Overlaysmith's prompt templates are a starting point; we don't control what a tool produces, and checking the result is up to you.
- Don't use an overlay to impersonate someone, or to mislead people about who you are or who you represent.
- Your meeting platform, employer or organization may have rules about what you show on camera or about browser extensions. You are responsible for following them.
04 Free version and the mark
The free version includes every feature. While an overlay is on, it also shows a small overlaysmith.com mark at the top of your video. The mark is never shown when the overlay is off. Buying the clean version removes it.
05 Payment, clean license & refunds
Purchases are processed by ExtPay, an independent payment service for Chrome extensions. By purchasing, you also agree to ExtPay's Terms of Service.
- One-time payment. The clean version is a single $1.99 charge. No recurring fees, no subscription, nothing to cancel.
- Lifetime license. It is permanent, not time-limited, and covers future updates at no additional charge.
- Personal and non-transferable. For individual use across devices you personally own or control. Not a shared, team or organizational license.
- Refunds. Requests are handled case by case. Email support@overlaysmith.com within 14 days of purchase if you have a problem. Refunds are processed through ExtPay and are subject to its policies.
- If the extension leaves the Chrome Web Store. License holders may keep using any installed version for as long as it works in their browser. We will make reasonable efforts to announce any planned discontinuation in advance.
06 Platform compatibility
Video-call platforms change their software on their own schedules, without notice to us. A platform update can stop Overlaysmith working on that platform, fully or partly. Supported platforms are listed on the home page; compatibility with any platform is not guaranteed.
Overlaysmith is designed so that when it can't add your image properly, it steps aside and sends your normal camera video rather than interrupting your call.
07 Disclaimer of warranties
Overlaysmith is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every browser, computer or meeting platform.
08 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Overlaysmith and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension — including, without limitation, an overlay that does not appear or is cropped by a platform's layout.
09 Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the revised terms.
